Now
that the summer heat has officially set in you want to make sure your
lawn is well protected. Here are a few key things you can do to make
sure your lawn stays green and alive:
1) Make sure you are
following proper watering instructions during these hot summer
months. Never water in the middle of the day. You want to water your
lawn 2-3 times a week for about 10-15 mins between the hours of
2am-10am.
2) Fescue lawns need to be cut to maintain a
height of 3.5-4 inches. Any shorter will stress out the lawn and it
will turn brown and possibly die. Keep your mower on the highest
setting possible!
3) Make sure to apply a 5-3-0 fertilizer to your
lawn in order to keep it strong and green. This application should be
applied 6-8 weeks apart during the summer.
4) Last but definitely
not least make sure to apply a fungicide on your lawn every 30 days
through out the months of May-August. With the high humidity and
heat, the lawn is a perfect breeding ground for Brown Patch which
will destroy and possibly kill your lawn.
If
you follow all of these rules then your lawn will stay green and
thick throughout the summer months. Contact us today and we can
schedule you for any of these you aren't already signed up for! Also
if you mention this posting then we will give you 10% off your first
treatment.
Hope you have a great rest of the week! And Hooray that summer is here!
